Right now, filter syntax only allows for "before" a date. This means that in the example before 6/26/2017, the date 6/26/2017 will not be included.
There is a feature request for this inclusive functionality. Right now, you either need to remember to add one day to the date you enter, or use two filters, before 6/26/2017 and on 6/26/2017.
